The team consist of a mix of representatives of Dutch and South African utilities as well as the international business environment, allowing a well balanced view for the benefit of both the public as well as the private sector. Together they work to ensure the sustainability of the Centre of Expertise.
Jeroen Bosboom is responsible for the Marketing & Business Development activities within the Centre of Expertise as a dedicated external resource from Your Man on Site.
Jeroen is of Dutch nationality and permanently based in Johannesburg and assists Leo on the day-to-day activities of the Centre of Expertise.
His major task is to facilitate and assist the (Dutch) public and private innovators who wish to develop business opportunities in South Africa via pilots at the Centre of Expertise.
Jeroen is 46 years old and holds a master’s degree in Chemical Engineering and a Post Masters in Environmental Engineering on water pollution.

Leo Meijer is the General Manager for the Centre of Expertise on behalf of Dutch Vitens Evides International.
His activities are focussed on setting-up the showcases and disseminating the results to peer utilities. Leo is based in Durban, with eThekwini water and sanitation.
Leo is 32 years old and holds a master’s degree in Civil engineering with a speciality in water treatment and supply.

Dhevan Govender is the Senior Manager : Commercial and Business of eThekwini Water and Sanitation (EWS) and their dedicated Project Manager in the Centre of Expertise.
Within this capacity he liaises between eThekwini and the various other parties in the Centre of Expertise on the various showcases and the general activities within the centre of expertise.
Dhevan is 39 years old, and holds an honours degree in corporate business administration and majors in accounting and economics.

Lauré Pieterse is the Assistant Director: Planning & Research within the Water & Sanitation Sub-Directorate, residing under the Infrastructure and Engineering Directorate of the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality, NMBM.
Lauré is responsible for an annual capital budget in excess of R400 million to support service delivery within Water and Sanitation for the NMBM. His main focus is the implementation and upgrading of main bulk water & sanitation services. This includes the project identification, preliminary and design phases, contract document preparation and drawings, contract procurement processes, construction implementation and administration, site supervision and finalization of the construction work. Further included is the long term future planning for water & sanitation requirements within the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality boundaries.
Lauré was born and bred in Port Elizabeth. From there he went to Stellenbosch from where he obtained a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Stellenbosch.
Collin Mubadiro is the representative of the Centre of Expertise in Cape Town, where he currently is the Head: Water Demand Management and Operational Implementation.
Collin holds a BSc Honours in Civil Engineering Degree, is a registered Professional Engineer with more than 10 years’ experience in infrastructure expansion and a Professional Member of the Institute of Municipal Engineering (IMESA).
Collin’s experience lies in Water Engineering, dam design and construction supervision; Water and Sewer networks design and construction supervision; Water and Sewer Network Rehabilitations; and Water Demand Management and Water Conservation.
His current roles include Real Water Losses Reduction, identification of alternative water resources, education and awareness campaign, approval of new/alternative water and sewer technologies and education and awareness campaign.

Nokubonga (Adroneth) Nxumalo is be based in the Centre of Expertise office in Durban and will focus on administrative support for the Centre of Expertise and the showcases in the capacity of project officer.
She is 22 years old and has her national diploma in Civil engineering.
Nokubonga is appointed by eThekwini Water and Sanitation as a learner technician to assist and support the Centre of Expertise and the showcases.

Mthokozisi Ncube is the Manager: Innovation and Technology within the Strategy and Business Support Department of Johannesburg Water and is the designated project manager for all its Centre of Expertise activities.
Mthokozisi is responsible for the research and innovation programs of the company and has previous experience in water resources planning and management, municipal engineering, operations and maintenance, water conservation and demand management, among others.
He holds a BEng Honours Degree in Civil and Water Engineering, a MSc in Civil Engineering, and is a PhD student in Civil Engineering specialising in water loss management.

The Selection Committee members of the Centre of Expertise are representatives of the contributing South African utilities, bringing together 60 years of personal expertise in Drinking Water, Operations and Waste Water.
Jointly they decide which topic and matching technology is selected as a showcase at a specific utility. The criteria, procedures and their selection is unbiased, but always based on the needs of the Southern African utilities.
The Executive of the Centre of Expertise is formed by the Board and appointed General Manager.
The board is constituted of executive representatives of the contributing South African utilities and an independent Chair person as well as the international business environment, allowing a well balanced view for the benefit of both the public as well as the private sector.
Their executive responsibility focusses amongst others on Strategic Partnerships and the neutral and correct approach towards the fulfilment of the needs of the Southern African utilities.
